Confidentiality

I adhere the code of ethics of the UK National Counselling Society (NCS). I am certified in the safeguarding of children and vulnerable people and served as the safeguarding officer of a community based organisation in Switzerland for 3 years.

All our conversations occur in a safe, non-judgemental, and confidential environment. Everything we talk about is in the strictest confidence, and nothing you say will be disclosed to a third person without your knowledge and consent. The only exceptions are those required by law (1) if there is a real and imminent threat of serious harm to yourself or others; or (2) disclosure of criminal activity.

As part of my professional practice, I also undergo regular supervision with an experienced counselling supervisor. The supervisor’s role is to monitor my practice and to ensure the well-being of both client and counsellor. Supervision also ensures that my skills, knowledge, and ethical practice are consistent with NCS professional standards. With your permission, I may verbally share certain aspects of counselling sessions with my supervisor, on a strictly anonymised basis, for training and quality purposes.
